Austenitic steel

As the name itself indicates, austenitic steel is a specific type of stainless steel alloy that has austenite. The austenitic is obtained by adding elements from austenite, such as nickel, nitrogen or manganese.

Austenitic stainless steels constitute the family with the largest number of alloys available, integrating the 200 and 300 AISI series.

Its main qualities are: excellent formability and great resistance to corrosion.

Some of its main characteristics are the following:

  • Very good resistance to corrosion.
  • Hardened by cold work and not by heat treatment.
  • Excellent weldability.
  • Excellent hygiene and cleanliness factor.
  • Simple formed and easy to transform.
