CHARACTERISTICS AND TYPICAL APPLICATION

Raex® is a range of steels resistant to wear, high friction, high hardness and tenacity in case of impact.
It allows an extended useful life of the machinery, reduces wear in structural components, decreases weights improving the energy efficiency and reduces the fuel consumption.

Anti-wear Raex steel has applications in many fields of mechanical engineering as automotive, transport, mining and earthen movements:

• Trailers and trash cans
• Shovels for excavators and earthen movement machinery
• Wear pieces in mining
• Cement mixer, timber processing machinery
• Platforms and structures
• Hoppers, feeders
• Dump truck

SUPPLY STATUS

Raex® steel is delivered temperate.

Surface finish:

In accordance with EN 10163-2 B3 Class.
The cut pieces by a coil are delivered in black finish.
Quarto plate can be delivered in black or shot-peening finish and painted.

Dimensional tolerances:

Flatness accordance to EN 10029 N Class
Dimensions in accordance with EN 10051 for pieces cut by a coil.
Dimensions in accordance to EN 10029 for quarto plates.

SOLDERING AND OXYCUT

The weldability of Raex® steel is one of the best sheets in terms of resistance to wear.
The instructions about welding and oxycut cut are indicated in the specific brochure.

DRILLING AND CUT

Raex 400 can be drilled with bits for high-hardness steels. The part being drilled should be properly hold, safely.
The mechanical cut causes difficulties, should be done with caution because of the hardness of this steel. The cut blades should be upper than 53 HRC.

BENT

To form into a curve, precautions should be taken because of the projectile risk of fragments in case of overcome the minimum limits.

• Always possible curved <90º
• For thickness <=20mm, Bend radius/Thickness (R/t): cross= 3, longitudinal = 4
• For thickness upper to 20mm, ask the manufacturer.

TRANSFORMATION (cold deformation)

Not suitable for hot forming or structures that need elimination of tensions.
The hardness characteristics are lower for a warming upper to 200ºC. The treatment in upper temperatures, decreases the properties of: abrasion resistant, hardness and resistance.

Stock Program

• Wide range of thicknesses and formats:
• Boil pieces from 2 to 8mm, with typical width of 1.000 and 1.500 mm, lengths to 12.000 mm according to thickness.
• Quarto plates from 6 to 80mm, with typical widths of 2.000 and 2.500 mm, lengths to 12.000 mm according to thickness.
• Check our stock in the warehouse for each supply, as if delivery period for formats not available in: comercial@acerosurssa.es.
• We also serve parts of sheet, cut in multiples lengths of 1000mm maintaining the width.
• Oxycut of tailor-made pieces from 6-8 mm thickness to over.
